What is Hospice?
Hospice care focuses on providing comfort measures and support to the patient and their family members when a life-limiting illness no longer responds to curative treatment.
Hospice is centered on keeping patients comfortable through symptom management, whereas curative treatment focuses on curing a disease process.
Hospice utilizes an integrative and holistic approach to healthcare that addresses the physical, emotional, cultural, and spiritual needs of the patient and their family members during the end-of-life stages.
Who Qualifies for Hospice?
Anyone with a life-limiting disease and prognosis of 6 months or less, or anyone who wants to focus on quality of life and symptom management versus curative treatment.
Who Pays for Hospice?
Hospice care is most often paid for by Medicare. It may also be paid for by Medicaid, Health Insurance HMO's, and private payers.
Bayside Wellness is now accepting Medicare patients for Home Health Services
What is Home Health?
Home health is the term used to describe healthcare services that are given to patients in their homes as opposed to a hospital or other healthcare facility.
These services, which are normally offered by qualified healthcare professionals, may include nursing care, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and other types of medical treatment and support.
Who Qualifies for Home Health?
People who are recovering from an illness or injury or who have chronic health concerns that need continuing management frequently use home health services. Home health aims to support people in maintaining their freedom and standard of living while obtaining the necessary medical treatment.
